GlowDecoded is manufactured in the United States in a GMP-certified (Good Manufacturing Practice) facility. GMP certification means the facility meets federal standards for quality control, ingredient testing, cleanliness, and accurate labeling. You can see both the GMP and Made in USA certifications on every bottle.
Every ingredient in GlowDecoded is dosed in alignment with published research — not driven by what’s cheapest to put on a label. Most supplement formulas are built around margin first. Ingredients get included at trace amounts so a brand can list them without the cost meaningfully affecting the price of the product. The result is a formula that looks comprehensive on paper but isn’t doing much in your body.
GlowDecoded was built the other way around. The question was always: what does the research actually support? That’s why you’ll see L-Glutathione at 400mg rather than the 50–100mg common in most skin supplements. It’s why NAC is at 500mg — one of the most researched antioxidant precursors available, and one of the most consistently underdosed. It’s why Vitamin C is at 300mg rather than a token 60mg. Formulating at clinical levels is more expensive. That cost is intentional.†
GlowDecoded contains 100mg of astaxanthin extract standardized to 2%, which delivers 2mg of active astaxanthin per serving. We’ve heard feedback that this labeling is a little confusing — and we agree. We’ll be updating the label on the next batch to make the active amount clearer.
In the meantime, here’s what it means: astaxanthin is sold as an extract, not a pure compound, and the potency depends entirely on what percentage of that extract is actually active. A product listing “100mg astaxanthin extract” without a standardization figure could be delivering a fraction of a milligram of active astaxanthin. At 2% standardization, 100mg delivers exactly 2mg — in line with the dosage range used in clinical research.
Most supplement brands either omit astaxanthin entirely or include a trace, non-standardized dose just to get it on the label. It’s a carotenoid produced primarily by microalgae, harvested through a careful cultivation process, and significantly more expensive per milligram than common filler ingredients. The cost is why most brands skip it. It’s also why we include it.†
Yes. GlowDecoded was formulated for any adult who wants to support their skin from the inside. Every ingredient works the same way regardless of gender, and the antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and skin-supporting mechanisms in this formula are not sex-specific. If you deal with hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tone, sun damage, or oxidative stress, this formula was built with you in mind.
With food. Several ingredients in GlowDecoded, including astaxanthin, are fat-soluble — meaning they absorb significantly better when taken alongside a meal that contains some dietary fat. Even a small meal or snack with healthy fat (eggs, avocado, nuts, olive oil) is enough to meaningfully improve how well your body absorbs what’s in the capsules. Taking it on a completely empty stomach is not harmful, but you may not be getting the full benefit of the formula.
The serving size is 3 capsules per day. You can take all three at once with a meal, or split them across two meals if that works better for your routine — for example, 2 capsules with breakfast and 1 with lunch.
What matters most is consistency. Taking your capsules at the same time or times each day builds the sustained internal environment the formula is designed to create. Sporadic dosing will produce inconsistent effects.
GlowDecoded is designed for consistent, ongoing use. The ingredients support antioxidant activity, oxidative stress management, and skin cell health as continuous processes — not one-time events. Your skin is constantly cycling, constantly exposed to environmental stressors, and constantly producing pigment. Because the skin cycle works on its own timeline, and because no supplement produces immediate effects, the formula works best as a daily habit rather than a short-term course.
Long-term use is safe for healthy adults and is how the formula is intended to be used. As with any supplement, if you have a medical condition or are under the care of a physician, it’s worth discussing long-term use with them.†
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. A cabinet away from your stove or dishwasher, a bedroom dresser, or a bathroom shelf that doesn’t get steamy are all fine. Avoid anywhere that gets warm or humid — heat and moisture can degrade certain ingredients over time.
The refrigerator is a great storage option, particularly if you live somewhere warm or want to reduce the intensity of the sulfur scent on opening. Cold storage is perfectly safe and can help preserve potency. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use and out of reach of children. Do not use past the expiration date printed on the bottle.
If you’ve opened your bottle and noticed a strong, sulfur-like smell — that’s completely normal and not a sign anything is wrong with your product.
The primary source is NAC (N-acetylcysteine), a sulfur-containing amino acid derivative. NAC is structurally similar to sulfur compounds found in garlic and eggs, so the aroma carries that same characteristic note. It’s potent in smell even at small quantities, and at 500mg per serving, GlowDecoded uses a clinical dose — so you’re going to notice it. L-Glutathione and MSM, both sulfur-containing compounds in the formula, contribute mildly as well. None of this affects the efficacy or safety of the product.
The smell does not transfer to the capsules themselves — there is no taste or aftertaste when you take them.
Not only can you — you should. Internal and external skincare work on fundamentally different mechanisms, and the most effective approach combines both. GlowDecoded works at the cellular level, supporting the conditions under which skin cells are built and how your body manages pigmentation pathways from within. Topical skincare works at the surface, targeting existing pigmentation and protecting the outer layers. They don’t compete. They compound.
- SPF every day, without exception. Melasma and hyperpigmentation are triggered and worsened by UV exposure. No supplement, topical, or treatment can do its job properly if you’re continually reactivating pigment through unprotected sun exposure.
- Topical actives that complement internal antioxidant support include niacinamide, vitamin C serums, tranexamic acid, and azelaic acid. These work on pigmentation at the surface while GlowDecoded supports the same system from underneath.
- Diet matters. A diet high in colorful vegetables, adequate protein, healthy fats, and low in processed sugar creates the best internal environment for the formula to do its job. Reducing sugar lowers glycation and oxidative stress — giving the formula less interference to work against.
- Consistency across all three areas is what produces the most meaningful change over time. When supplementation, topical use, and sun protection are all aligned and sustained, that’s when the skin responds.†
Yes. What you eat can reinforce or work against the same internal systems GlowDecoded is designed to support.
- Sulfur-rich foods — eggs, garlic, onions, broccoli, Brussels sprouts — support your body’s natural glutathione production, working in the same direction as NAC and glutathione in the formula.
- Vitamin C-rich foods — citrus, bell peppers, kiwi, strawberries — complement the 300mg already in GlowDecoded and help regenerate other antioxidants including glutathione.
- Carotenoid-rich foods — tomatoes, carrots, sweet potato, leafy greens — support a broader antioxidant environment that works synergistically with astaxanthin.
- Reducing sugar and processed foods lowers glycation and oxidative stress, giving the formula less interference to work against.
The simplest version: a diet high in colorful vegetables, adequate protein, and healthy fats — and low in processed sugar — creates the best internal conditions for the formula to do its job.†
With any supplement, you should not expect immediate effects — and any brand that implies otherwise is not being straight with you. Here’s the biology behind why, and what a realistic timeline actually looks like.
Your skin cycles. The outermost layer constantly sheds and regenerates through a process called cellular turnover. A skin cell is born at the base of the epidermis, works its way to the surface over time, and eventually sheds. In younger adults this cycle takes roughly 28 days. As we age, it slows — often extending to 45, 60, or even 90 days.
Melanin, the pigment responsible for hyperpigmentation, is deposited into those cells as they form. A supplement working from the inside is influencing cells as they’re being built — which means you need at least one full skin cycle before any change has had time to reach the surface. Most people should not expect visible changes before 4 to 6 weeks of consistent daily use. For many, especially those with longer skin cycles or deeper pigmentation, 8 to 12 weeks is a more realistic window. The skin cycle does not accelerate because you want it to. Changes that come from the inside out take time because biology takes time.†
As a general rule, the guidance from most OB-GYNs and maternal health practitioners is to avoid any supplement that hasn’t been specifically cleared for pregnancy use unless your physician has reviewed it and signed off for your individual situation.
That said, several ingredients in GlowDecoded have been studied in the context of pregnancy, and the research landscape is mixed depending on the ingredient. NAC (N-acetylcysteine), for example, has been studied in pregnancy and is sometimes used clinically, but it has not been formally approved or cleared as safe for general pregnancy use. Glutathione, astaxanthin, and high-dose vitamin C similarly lack sufficient clinical data in pregnant populations to establish a definitive safety profile.
We always recommend consulting your physician or OB-GYN before starting GlowDecoded if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding. Your provider can weigh the ingredients against your personal health history and make the right call for you.†
GlowDecoded is a dietary supplement, and for most healthy adults it is well-tolerated alongside general wellness routines. However, any time you are adding a new supplement to your routine while currently taking prescription medication, hormonal birth control, hormone replacement therapy, or any other prescribed treatment — we always recommend consulting your physician or healthcare provider before starting.
Certain ingredients, including NAC, can interact with specific medications, and your doctor is the right person to assess whether there are any considerations relevant to your individual health picture. A quick conversation with your provider before starting is always the right move, and any good doctor will appreciate that you asked.
The same guidance applies if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding. See the pregnancy question above for more detail. Your health history is individual. Our formula is designed to support healthy adults, and a physician who knows your full picture is always the best person to confirm that it’s right for you.
